Sunday afternoon trip to Tönning

We took a car ride on the Eider-peninsular today and ended up in Tönning where we were having these phantastic ‘Windbeutel’ (creamy puffs according to my dictionary) for our Sunday coffee and cake. And, believe it or not, we were sitting outside in the sun, wearing our warm coats but enjoying sun on our faces. Spring is on it’s way and I love it!!!

Tönning is a small place  at the river Eider, close to where it flows into the North Sea, It is an old town and at one time especially it’s harbour was of some importance. There was a castle which has been destroyed and quite a big shipyard. These days it is a quiet, but still very nice place, which is popular with tourists in summer.
