    1. The ferry is part of a railway bridge, which for 99 years used to be the longest in Germany. It was built between 1911 and 13 and is one of only eight existing ones worldwide. The ferry can take four cars and 60 foot passengers, and it takes about two minutes to cross the canal.Ships have right of way, of course, so there can be delays. It is running every 15 minutes from 05.00 am to 11 pm and it doesn’t cost anything to use it. At the moment the bridge is being repaired, so for a while there won’t be any trips on it.
